MADAYMEN KIBUNGAN SUNSET

BATANGAN, KIBUNGAN, BENGUET
MT. KILKILI It is a potential natural attraction found in Palina. This cone-shaped mountain viewed from the road has a plateau on one side used as a camping site by the local people. It is believed that this part is a dead volcano.

TAKADANG, KIBUNGAN, BENGUET
MT. AMANAYAO It is a potential natural attraction found in Badeo. The highest mountain in barangay Badeo serves as the watershed of the area. The green and fascinating countryside offers a feast to the eyes of the hardy mountain climbers and the environment-friendly nature lovers. The main access to Kibungan is the Tublay- Kapangan- Kibungan road. Going to the barangay proper takes the local people 4 hours hike from the main road. For the ordinary trekker, the hike would take about 5-6 hour or more.
 MT. PUSO AND MT. TAGPAYA It is a potential natural attraction found in Tacadang. These two Rocky Mountains are similar to Mount Oten and are adjacent to one another.
MT. OTEN It is a potential natural attraction found in Tacadang. This rocky mountain has the highest peak in Tacadang, Kibungan with an elevation of 1,980 meters above sea level. It was named Mount Oten due the abundance of "oten" trees growing on the top and sides. Though there are foot trails leading to the mountain, the terrain is difficult to hike. It is not recommended for mountain climbing beginners. For the adventurous and energetic nature enthusiasts, this is the place for them. The hike from the highway takes about 10 to 12 hours. Local residents are available as tour guides and porters.

COLANGI WATERFALLS It is a potential natural attraction found in Badeo. The falls has an approximate height of 500-600 meters from the rice fields of Badeo down to the Kibungan River. It is part of the view when hiking through the trail from Bacbacan, Poblacion to Les-eng, Tacadang. Going to the place takes endurance for the trekker. It is ideal for swimming, fishing and nature communing.

MAYOS RIVER
LENGSED WATERFALLS It is a potential natural attraction found in Poblacion. It has scenic view from Tanap, Poblacion. The falls is accessible to the local people who used the place for swimming, picnic sites and fishing.
SUKOK RIVER It is a potential natural attraction found in Tacadang. This is a portion of the Kibungan River that passes through the rocky mountain ranges of barangays Tacadang and Badeo. The water flows through a gulley or trench measuring approximately 15 meters wide and more than a kilometer high on both sides. One can walk through following the river during the dry season when the water is low but it has a very strong force during the rainy season making it very dangerous.

CULIANG WATERFALLS
LON-OY AND LUS-OK BURIAL ROCKS It is a potential natural attraction found in Tacadang. The rocky terrain of the barangay has allowed the community resident to make use of the rocks as burial site of their ancestors. It needs the approval of the people to open the site for tourists .
NASNGI, BEEY DODONG AND TUBENG HOT SPRING It is a potential natural attraction found in Poblacion. The local people use the hot spring for bathing and swimming with its medicinal/therapeutic effects. Geologists who visited the place believed the water source is from Mount Kil-kili at barangay Palina.

PALINA BURIAL SITE
GANGA-AN BURIAL CAVE It is a potential natural attraction found in Madaymen. This burial cave contains around 30 indigenously crafted coffins. Old folks claim these are preserved remains of the first settlers of the place including their relatives from other places.

LEGLEG PALINA
DECCAN BURIAL CAVE It is a potential natural attraction found in Badeo. This is similar to Ganga-an and Lam-ma burial caves.
LAM-MA BURIAL ROCK It is a potential natural attraction found in Poblacion.
BATANGAN AIRSTRIP
It is a potential natural attraction found in Palina. The plateau was developed and used by American missionaries in the mid 60's as landing site for their biplanes. The top of the airstrip provides for view of the provinces of La Union and Ilocos Sur. To date the airstrip is no longer used but helicopters can still land.

Man-Made Attractions found in Kibungan

KIBUNGAN RICE TERRACES
TABBAK TUNNEL This is a potential man-made attraction of the municipality of Kibungan. This is an abandoned mine exploration tunnel. The stonewalls contain pyrites, "false gold" which glitter when it reflects light inside the tunnel. It became a home to a host of bats. It is believed that the area may have some mineral lodes but the community residents are not agreeable to mining.

PALINA RICE TERRACES/DAMPEG & TANAP RICE This is a potential man-made attraction of the municipality of Kibungan. The terraces are stone-walled and strategically built in places where there is water running nearby to irrigate the fields. The terraces reflect the skill and industry of the early setters of the place for better appreciation. It takes from one to four hours hike depending on what terraces one would visit.

LES-ENG,BATANGAN,WALLAYAN,CULIANG & LANIPEW RICE TERRACES
This is a potential man-made attraction of the municipality of Kibungan. To see or view these terraces, one has to hike four to six hours from the road. The trail passes through rocky mountains for hardy hikers and adventurous tourists only.

MADAYMEN VEGETABLE TERRACES This is a potential man-made attraction of the municipality of Kibungan. At an elevation range of 2,000 - 2,600 meters above sea level, Barangay Madaymen is the highest place in the municipality and the coldest. These conditions make the place ideal in producing the highland/ temperate vegetables. The variety of vegetables grown in the place is a feast to the eyes. The practice of organic farming is not new to the farmers in the area.
Aside from the beautiful scenery and cold weather, visitors could observe the farmers in the area. The place is 64 km. away from La Trinidad via the Halsema Highway. From Baguio there are two daily trips of buses going to the sea.
